Mission

Our mission is to provide our university with information technologies support needed in teaching and research, to keep the network, system software and the components related to infrastructure ready and reliable, to provide information technologies and services in order to support students, academic and administrative staff by using advanced technology, to produce or supply the software and needed systems and to ensure its continuity.

 

Vision

Our vision is to be among the leading universities in our country in terms of infrastructure and service quality, to ensure the continuity of the technological infrastructure of our University by following closely the information technologies and related developments.

 

History

With the law numbered 7141, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 18.05.2018 and numbered 30425, our university was established with the goal of contributing to the development of the country. The Information Processing Department began operations on this date. In this context, the newly established Directorate of Information Technologies has taken a visionary approach, focusing on activities that will create difference and value, as well as routine information services, to contribute to the achievement of the university's goals and objectives.

 

About Us

Following technical advancements and strengthening the university's information infrastructure, our Directorate continues its study. It keeps up its efforts in the areas of software development, systems, networks, cyber security, technical support, and administrative business operations within the context of the studies conducted. With the assistance of its knowledgeable team, it executes its operations in line with the vision, mission, and strategic objectives of the university and the unit. In order to accomplish strategic goals, it works particularly hard to provide the licenced software required by our university, to increase internet coverage, to integrate new technologies, to collaborate effectively, to manage the data centre in accordance with current technologies, and to sustain informatics services without interruption.

 

Legal Obligations

Decree-Law dated 07.10.1983 and numbered 124 on the Higher Education Institutions and the Administrative Organization of Higher Education Institutions, Section 7, Article 34: The duties of the Directorate of Information Technologies are as follows:

  ∙ to operate the information processing system in the university; to support education, training and research,

  ∙ to perform other information processing services required by the university.

 

Legislation Analysis

The Higher Education Law No. 2547, a framework law, and the Constitution serve as the primary pieces of legislation that establish the constitutional bounds of higher education institutions. Higher education institutions are described in the Constitution's 130th article as "institutions with public legal personality and scientific autonomy comprising various units for the provision of education, scientific research, publication, and consultancy at various levels based on secondary education, to serve the country and humanity in order to train manpower in accordance with the needs of the nation and the country in an order based on contemporary education."

The main laws and regulations governed and used in the services of our Directorate within the scope of the duties of higher education institutions that take place in Article 12 of Higher Education Law prepared with the provision of The Constitution that states “The establishment and organs of Higher Education Institutions and their functioning, their election, duties, powers and responsibilities and the use of financial resources are regulated by law” are the following:
