TÜBİTAK 2023 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call Contract Signing Ceremony was held at the Marmara Technopolis in TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus. At the ceremony held with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik signed the contract on behalf of our University together with TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal and the parties of the project.

 

The project titled "Traceability, Efficiency and Predictive Maintenance in Artificial Intelligence Based New Generation Band Saw Metal Cutting Machines", in which Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sait Ali Uymaz, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ersin Kaya, one of the faculty members of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Department of Computer Engineering, and Prof. Dr. Ömer Sinan Şahin, one of the faculty members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, were deemed worthy of support by TÜBİTAK Technology and Innovation Support Programs Directorate within the scope of "1711-YZE-2023 Artificial Intelligence Ecosystem Call". The project to be supported in the field of Intelligent Production Systems will be carried out by the working team consisting of İMAŞ Makine Sanayi A.Ş., Omarge Bilişim Ltd. Şti. and Konya Technical University academicians.

 

The project aims to increase the performance and efficiency of band saw metal cutting machines by using an artificial intelligence-supported approach in industrial metal cutting processes, reduce the problems encountered in cutting processes and make the machines more reliable, traceable and predictable with predictive maintenance techniques.
