TÜBİTAK Project Success from Our Faculty Members

Project proposals by our university’s faculty members, aimed at fostering university-industry collaboration, have been accepted and approved for funding by TÜBİTAK. The acceptance of these projects in various categories highlights KTUN's commitment to strengthening university-industry partnerships.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karaman, a faculty member of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, will lead the project titled “Development of a Roll-to-Roll Vapor Phase Coating System for Organic Conductive Surface Coatings on Synthetic Textile Fibers.” The project has been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 1005 – National Research Support Program for New Ideas and Products. It will be carried out in partnership with Korteks Mensucat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., a subsidiary of one of Turkey’s leading industrial groups, Zorlu Holding, and will involve extensive work in university-industry collaboration.

Another project, titled “Injury Risk Prediction with an Athlete Thermal Digital Twin – Development of a Protection Analysis and Definition of a Domain-Specific Large Language Model (Genai4sports),” submitted and led by Prof. Dr. Murat Ceylan of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, through his company Aivisiontech Electronics Software Inc., has also been approved for funding under the TÜBİTAK TEYDEB 1507 program.

Also supported within the same program is the project “Eco-Friendly Industrial Coating: Sustainable Electroless Nickel-Boron Plating Solutions,” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kocabaş from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Research Assistant Aleyna Bayatlı also contributes to the project as a researcher.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, congratulated the faculty members on their project achievements, stating, “We are very pleased with the success of these projects. They are a strong indication of our commitment to university-industry collaboration. I sincerely congratulate our faculty members and wish them continued success on the path to becoming a Research University.”
