The results of the TU11 BAP Joint Research Projects (BAP 14) initiated within the scope of the Technical Universities Union (TU11) have been announced following the completion of the evaluation process. Our university had two projects selected to receive support.
Within the scope of the TU11 BAP Joint Research Projects, the project titled “Production of Next-Generation Bio-Composite with High Strength and Fire-Resistance from Biomass, Borax, and Plastic Waste for Use in Structures”, led by Prof. Dr. Esra Yel from the Department of Environmental Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, and the project titled “Production and Characterization of Zinc Oxide Nanostructure Arrays Coated with Metal-Organic Frameworks for Photocatalysis”, led by Prof. Dr. Hasan Akyıldız from the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, were deemed worthy of support.
Among the 50 applications submitted during this call, 16 strategic projects were selected, which will be implemented with a total support of 21.6 million TL. A total of 195 researchers are involved in these projects through an interdisciplinary collaborative production process.
The project areas range broadly from artificial intelligence and digital transformation to advanced materials and manufacturing technologies, and from sustainability and green technologies to health and biotechnology. These areas are aligned with the 12th Development Plan and TÜBİTAK’s priority R&D and innovation themes, aiming not only to address the current needs of Turkey but also to make strong contributions to future transformational areas.
