A cooperation protocol was signed between our university (Konya Technical University – KTÜN) and ETİ Alüminyum A.Ş. to strengthen university–industry collaboration and better prepare students for the sector.
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, and the accompanying delegation visited the ETİ Alüminyum A.Ş. facilities in Seydişehir and participated in the protocol signing ceremony. The event was attended by Ekrem Cengiz (Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cengiz Holding), Mehmet Arkan (General Manager of ETİ Alüminyum A.Ş.), Prof. Dr. Nurettin Çetinkaya (Vice Rector), Lect. Dr. Resul Çelik (Director of the Career Center), and Zekeriya Yılmaz (Human Resources Manager at ETİ Alüminyum A.Ş.).
Under the signed protocol, KTÜN students will be provided with internship and workplace training opportunities, and priority will be given to their employment after graduation. The protocol also aims to develop joint R&D projects between university academicians and the company.
Additionally, technical visits, seminars, workshops, and practical courses are planned to be carried out at the ETİ Alüminyum A.Ş. facilities. These activities are designed to help students consolidate their theoretical knowledge with field practice and gain competencies that meet industry needs.
The cooperation covers a wide range of engineering fields, including computer, environmental, electrical-electronic, industrial, construction, geology, chemical, mining, mechanical, metallurgy and materials, software engineering, as well as artificial intelligence and machine learning. Through this collaboration, students are expected to strengthen their practical skills and better align with sector requirements.
KTÜN and ETİ Alüminyum A.Ş. also aim to increase the visibility of joint activities under the protocol and conduct exemplary works in the field of university–industry collaboration.
