In collaboration with Konya Technical University, Konya Metropolitan Municipality’s Youth Culture Card, and the Social Innovation Agency, an award ceremony was held to honor the winners of the photography contest themed “Behavioral and Substance Addiction.”

 

The contest aimed to raise awareness among young people about various types of addiction. The first prize was awarded to Hasan Erden Tatlıpınar, who received his award from Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik.

 

The competition was planned to reward the top 10 participants, and the winners and their rankings were announced as follows:

Third Prize: Burak Güdücü

Fourth Prize: Aylin Karabulut

Fifth Prize: Buğra Bulut

Sixth Prize: Ayşe Ceylan

Seventh Prize: Fatma Seda Özden

Eighth Prize: Muhammed Seyit Uğur

Ninth Prize: Miyase Acar

Tenth Prize and KONFAD Special Award: Feyza Baltürk

 

“We Are Proud of Our Youth’s Sensitivity Toward Social Issues”

 

Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, in his remarks regarding the competition, expressed his appreciation for the students’ artistic approach to highlighting such a significant social issue. He stated:

 

“As a university, we are committed to supporting our students not only in technical and scientific fields but also in activities that raise social awareness. We believe photography, as a powerful means of expression, plays an effective role in creating consciousness in the fight against addiction. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Prof. Dr. Yağmur Küçükbezirci from the Vocational School of Technical Sciences, Ali Ziya Yalçınkaya, Head of the Department of Health, Culture and Sports, the jury members who contributed to the event, and especially the students who made a difference with their work.”

 

The award ceremony, held at the KTÜN Lobby Area, was attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci and Prof. Dr. Ali Köken, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altın (Director of the Vocational School of Technical Sciences), Mevlüt Uyan (Director of the Graduate Education Institute), Secretary General Kamil Gök, as well as many academic and administrative staff.

 

In addition, the event welcomed notable guests such as Dr. Zeliha Üstün, President of the Konya Branch of the Green Crescent Society, Muhammed Esad Çağla, Board Member and President of the Youth Commission of the Green Crescent, Ali Güney, Director of the Social Innovation Agency of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Salim Can Kilci, President of the Youth Council of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, and Abdülkadir Yurt, Vice Provincial Police Chief of Konya.

 

After the awards were presented, the event continued with the distribution of certificates of appreciation to the jury members and concluded with a group photo session.
