Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, attended the 2025–2026 Academic Year Opening Ceremony held at the Presidential Complex under the auspices of our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
At the ceremony held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Center, President Erdoğan wished a fruitful academic year for all universities and highlighted the deep-rooted place of science and education in our civilization. In his speech, Erdoğan stated, “We must not allow the contributions we have made to science throughout history to be overlooked.”
In this year’s opening lecture, special emphasis was placed on the inhumane attacks that have continued in Gaza for the past two years, and Turkey’s strong support for the just cause of the Palestinian people was once again underlined.
At the end of the ceremony, the YÖK 2025 Outstanding Achievement Awards were presented to the winners in four categories: individual, institutional, special field, and special award.
Representing Konya Technical University, alongside Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci, Director of the Graduate Education Institute Prof. Dr. Mevlüt Uyan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Prof. Dr. Esra Yel, Director of the Vocational School of Technical Sciences Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altın, and a student group including our Palestinian students attended the ceremony.
