Our university, established in 2018, drew attention with its achievements in various categories in the 2025 University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report published by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Despite being a young university, with a historical foundation reaching back to 1970 through its predecessor institutions, our university stood out nationwide due to its performance in research and development, student participation, and scientific productivity.
The report was prepared based on data from the 2023–2024 academic year and the 2024 fiscal year among 201 universities with associate and bachelor degree students out of the total 208 higher education institutions in operation. This year, for the first time, the Turkey University Experience Survey (TÜDA) was also included in the report, conducted with the participation of 264,344 students from 205 universities, incorporating student satisfaction indicators.
Strong Participation in Technology Competitions
Our university participated in technology and research competitions organized by prestigious institutions such as TEKNOFEST, TÜBİTAK, and TÜBA with 637 students, ranking 9th nationwide in terms of student participation. With 142 teams, the university rose to 6th place, and with 8 awards won it achieved 19th place, strengthening its academic and technological visibility.
International Publication Performance
In terms of international academic productivity, our university demonstrated significant success, ranking 20th nationwide with an average of 1.42 Web of Science-indexed publications per faculty member. In terms of citation rate, it achieved 19th place with an 83.8% citation performance, underscoring its scientific impact.
Growth in Patents and International Collaboration
KTÜN also showed strong performance in intellectual property, ranking 8th nationwide with an 11.0% positive patent result rate. Additionally, the university was evaluated among institutions showing steady advancement in international collaboration within Web of Science-indexed publications.
Although our university was established recently, it continues to maintain its growth momentum with results in research, innovation, student engagement, and scientific productivity. By advancing its achievements year after year, it aims to strengthen its position within the Turkish higher education system.
Comparison with Previous Years
The 2025 University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report revealed significant momentum in many areas for our university. Notably, there was a remarkable increase in technology and research-focused student participation. In these competitions, our university moved up to 9th place in student participation nationwide, 6th place in the number of teams, and 19th place in the number of awards won, marking its first appearance in this listing.
In academic publication performance, our university maintained its position at 20th place for Web of Science-indexed publications per faculty member for both 2024 and 2025, and retained strong citation performance with 83.8% in 2025, securing 19th place.
Regarding industry partnerships, in 2024 the university ranked 5th nationwide in terms of the budget of jointly executed projects with industry at the national level. While it did not rank in patent indicators in 2024, in the 2025 report it achieved a notable rise to 8th place with its positive patent result rate of 11.0%.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, emphasized that this success is the result of a planned and sustainable development strategy rooted in a research and development-focused institutional culture that prioritizes student-centered approaches and quality academic production. He stated that the university values active participation in the technology and innovation ecosystem, and that increased visibility of students on national and international platforms — along with the degrees and awards they have achieved — further strengthens Konya Technical University’s scientific and societal contribution vision. Rector Çelik expressed his gratitude to all academic and administrative staff, students, and stakeholders who contributed to this success and affirmed that KTÜN will continue its path with a quality-oriented growth mindset.
