The 1st Artificial Intelligence Summit, organized by our university’s Artificial Intelligence and Image Processing Student Club with the support of the Kapsül Technology Platform, was held with the participation of leading experts in the field.
The summit took place at the historic Taş Bina with a large turnout. Among the attendees were Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, Deputy Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Ahmet Murat Koru, INNOPARK General Manager Prof. Dr. Ali Kahraman, Regional Director of the Presidential Directorate of Communications Oğuz Tunç, General Coordinator of the Kapsül Technology Platform Emre Genç, provincial directors from various public institutions, academics, and numerous students.
At the summit, expert speakers from institutions such as the Presidency of Defence Industries, ASELSAN Konya, the Presidency of Communications, the Ministry of Health's Directorate General of Health Information Systems, and various private firms shared the latest developments and applications in the field of artificial intelligence. The presentations focused particularly on AI applications in the defense, health, and communication sectors, providing in-depth information.

Delivering the opening speech of the summit, Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik emphasized that artificial intelligence represents a paradigm shift, bringing not only technological but also economic, social, and cultural transformation.
He stated: “Artificial intelligence is not merely a technological transformation; it also brings about economic, societal, and cultural change. As a university, we are not just observers of this process but active contributors. We prioritize interdisciplinary work, public-industry-university collaboration, and the development of technology based on ethical values. I hope this summit will serve as a source of inspiration for our students, an opportunity for collaboration for our academics, and a step forward in strengthening our ties with the industry.”
YOUNG ENGINEERS HIGHLIGHT TECHNOLOGY
Mustafa Akgün, President of the AI and Image Processing Student Club (YAZGİT), presented the club’s activities, including projects carried out within the scope of TEKNOFEST, and the achievements they have garnered. He stated that, as aspiring young engineers, they aim to contribute to the advancement of technology.
Prof. Dr. Murat Ceylan, the club’s academic advisor and faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, thanked all the students involved in organizing the event by name and expressed pride in his former students who are now working at prestigious institutions in Turkey. He also extended his gratitude to the expert speakers and supporting institutions and wished everyone a productive summit.

Following each presentation, students actively participated by posing questions to the speakers. The event proved to be highly productive, offering a significant platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration with industry, while also reinforcing our university's vision for digital transformation.
