40 National and International Cooperation Protocols from KTUN in the Last Two Years

Konya Technical University, which directs its activities with the aim of integrating with the city, adding social, cultural and economic added values, producing solutions and creating a culture of life in common with the city, has signed a cooperation protocol with 40 national and international institutions and organizations in the last two years.

Expressing the importance given to cooperation in the field of defense industry at every opportunity, KTUN Rector Prof. Dr. Babür Özçelik said, “Our university has the infrastructure to support the development of our country with its expert academic staff and qualified undergraduate and graduate graduates. As it is known, universities integrate with the city they are in, add value to it socially, culturally and economically, produce solutions and create a culture of life in partnership with the city. In this regard, as part of its responsibility to the region in which it is located, our university places a high value on university-industry collaboration. Because technical universities exist to promote intensive university-industry collaboration. We sign cooperation protocols with our country's strategic institutions with this awareness. For example, our university was included in " The Researcher Training Program for Defense Industry (SAYP)," which aims to develop the Defense Industry sector and to train qualified R&D personnel in this field. With this project, which will be carried into effect through the cooperation protocols signed between Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, STM Defense Technologies Engineering Inc. and Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ/TAI), TUSAŞ Engine Industry Inc. (TEI) and HAVELSAN, it is aimed to train employees of leading defence industry companies as qualified R&D personnel in the field of defence by participating in graduate programs at Konya Technical University. Also, we signed a cooperation protocol with Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TUSAŞ) to develop and maintain a dialogue for education, training and research. The protocol will allow joint thesis and project studies for postgraduate education, especially students' academic studies by using the laboratory and equipment infrastructure and facilities of TAI. A protocol was signed with HAVELSAN to increase university-industry cooperation. Our students at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences will be allowed to complete their education at governmental institutions and organizations as well as private sector workplaces under the "workplace education directive" for a set length of time thanks to this protocol. We sign protocols with such public institutions and non-governmental organizations.”

Stating that KTUN, as the only technical university of the KOP region, continues to be a pioneer with its studies in many fields, Rector Prof. Dr. Özçelik continued, “Our university aims to train engineers, architects and technicians who are up-to-date, have research and development skills, and can produce competent projects in the age of technology. Our university has an experienced academic staff, a location in Anatolia's industrial center, university-industry-oriented research, collaboration with strategic institutions, R&D activities, and interactions with universities that provide international education through Erasmus; as a result, it is an innovative state university that continues to be a development pioneer and understands its responsibility as a technical university. As a result, our academics work as academic advisors for a variety of industrial and public entities, including TÜBİTAK MARTEK, TÜBİTAK MAM, INNOPARK, and Konya Selcuk TTO. As a result, we will continue to provide protocols and research to the region and our country."
