OUR YOUTH ARE THE BRIGHT FACE OF TÜRKİYE
In her speech, our Minister of Family and Social Services, Ms. Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, stated that it is a source of great pride to be together with university members who bring together science and wisdom, reason and faith, and technology and civilization in an ancient city like Konya. Minister Göktaş used the following expressions: “Our country is taking firm steps towards the future with well-educated, open-minded, and innovative young people like you. You are the bright face of Türkiye. Engineers do not just produce bridges, machines, or software; they also design the way society lives. Architecture means the memory of the city. We are the heirs of a civilization that has kneaded stone not just as a material, but with soul and meaning for centuries.”
LET EVERY PROJECT PRODUCED IN LABORATORIES BE A PROJECT OF KINDNESS
Emphasizing that the human being is at the center of all scientific fields, Minister Göktaş reminded that the place where a person is raised, their character is shaped, and their values take root is the family. Göktaş said, “The family is the anchor point of both society and civilization. We wish that every project developed in the laboratories of this university be a project of kindness and a family-friendly solution at the same time. As the Ministry, we contribute to our work not only with technical knowledge but also with an engineering understanding raised with a consciousness of social responsibility.”
GAZA HAS BEEN ENGRAVED IN HUMAN HISTORY AS A SYMBOL OF PATIENCE, RESISTANCE, AND FAITH
Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, expressed his pleasure in coming together with the guests at the opening of the new academic year and provided information about the current status of the university, academic achievements, and student activities.
Touching upon the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza in his speech, our Rector said, “Gaza has been engraved in human history as a symbol of patience, resistance, and faith. Every pain experienced there reminds us once again of the importance of justice and human dignity. I commemorate all our brothers and sisters who were martyred in Gaza with mercy; I hope for the continuation of the peace established through the great initiatives of our President, and for a world where justice and humanity prevail again.”
Addressing the students and academic staff, our Rector said, “It is a national responsibility for you, the youth who will build the future of our country, to be trained in strategic and critical areas. I wholeheartedly believe that our efforts in these areas will contribute to the security, independence, and welfare of our country. I appreciate the efforts you have shown to carry Konya Technical University to a point worthy of its mission and vision, and I thank you all.”
UNIVERSITIES ARE AMONG THE MOST VALUABLE ASSETS OF OUR CITY
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay emphasized in his speech that Konya has been the center of science and wisdom from the past to the present. Altay stated, “Universities are very valuable in terms of being instrumental in keeping qualified human resources in our city. Therefore, our universities and the students raised in these universities are extremely precious to us. I wish success to all our students in the new academic term. As Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we have always been by your side, and we will continue to be so from now on.”
OUR UNIVERSITIES ARE THE MOST CRITICAL INVESTMENT FOR OUR FUTURE
Konya Governor İbrahim Akın drew attention in his speech to the importance of universities acting with an understanding that centers on the human, the family, and society while producing knowledge. Akın said, “In our city, which is the heart of industry, the knowledge produced and the studies carried out by our university in all fields ranging from engineering to architecture, from technology to research, now have the potential to create an impact not only locally but also on a national and global scale. The greatest power that realizes this potential is the labor of our academicians progressing under the guidance of knowledge and the belief our students have in innovation and production. This situation makes Konya Technical University a center that grows together with the city. On this occasion, I wish a successful academic year to our esteemed academicians and students.”
At the end of the ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik presented a gift to the Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş. The program ended after a group photo shoot.
