Konya Technical University Awarded Grant Support within Erasmus+ Programme KA171 Project

Within the framework of the 2025 Erasmus+ Key Action 1 Learning Mobility of Individuals – Higher Education Student and Staff Mobility with Third Countries not associated with the Programme, the project submitted by the Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Office of Konya Technical University has been approved by the Turkish National Agency and awarded grant support.

 

Under the scope of the KA171 Project, mobility activities will be carried out with five partner countries: Malaysia, Kosovo, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Algeria. By supporting student and staff exchange with countries outside Europe, the project aims to foster cultural diversity while expanding Konya Technical University’s academic collaboration network. This initiative refers to a significant step in the University’s ongoing efforts towards internationalization.

 

 

 

 

Academic Collaboration of Türkiye, Romania and Serbia Results in Successful BIP Programme

Konya Technical University – July 14-18, 2025

 

Konya Technical University (KTUN) Erasmus+ Institutional Coordination Office, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, has carried out an internationally significant education programme. Supported by the Turkish National Agency, Directorate of European Union Affairs, the “Robotics”-themed Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) commenced online between June 23–27, 2025, and was successfully completed with in-person sessions held from July 14–18, 2025.

 

Conducted by KTUN Erasmus+ Vice Coordinator and BIP Responsible, Dr. Teslime Gökgöl, the program was implemented with the active contributions of Departmental Erasmus+ Coordinator Prof. Dr. Rahime Ceylan and Assistant Departmental Erasmus+ Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Halil Çimen. Partner institutions included Universitatea Nationala de Stiinta si Tehnologie POLITEHNICA Bucuresti and Universitatea Petrol si Gaze Ploiesti from Romania, along with the University of Nis from Serbia.

 

In addition to 28 students from Romania, Universitatea Petrol si Gaze Ploiesti Erasmus Coordinator Loredana Ioana Pita and Lecturer Elena Mihai actively participated in the in-person sessions in Türkiye. Dr. Miodrag Spasic, faculty member of the University of Nis, from Serbia, joined the program as a guest professor invited to lecture.

 

The academic depth of the programme was enriched by robotics-focused lectures delivered by KTUN faculty members Prof. Dr. Bayram Akdemir, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akif Durdu, Asst. Prof. Dr. Mücahid Barstuğan, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Çakan from the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Complementing the academic content, Turkish cultural heritage was introduced through a dedicated lecture on “Turkish Culture” delivered by Dr. Teslime Gökgöl.

 

Beyond the academic part of the Blended Intensive Programme, participants also had the opportunity to explore the historical and cultural richness of Konya through a city tour. With contributions from Kapsül, Atmosfer Bosna Youth Center, Dolash Konya, and Nezih Konya Cuisine, the cultural program offered international guests an unforgettable experience.

 

The Blended Intensive Programme, which is a significant step forward in line with KTUN’s vision of internationalization, has strengthened academic collaboration while equipping students with an interdisciplinary perspective and by expanding horizon in engineering education.

 

 

 

 

 

Ukrainian Academics Complete Erasmus+ Programme Training Mobility at KTUN

Konya Technical University – June 23-27,  2025

 

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ KA171 Project, two academic staff members from the Department of Mining Engineering at Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University in Ukraine carried out a training mobility at Konya Technical University. During the visit, held between June 23–27, 2025, the guests highlighted the great benefits of the technical tours and laboratory activities organized as part of the program. After an efficient mobility, they visited the Erasmus+ Coordination Office, where they received their certificates of attendance and commemorative gifts from Erasmus+ Vice Coordinator, Dr. Teslime Gökgöl.

 

 

 

 

 

Bulgarian Academics Conduct Erasmus+ Programme Teaching Mobility at KTUN

Konya Technical University – June 16-19,  2025

 

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme, two academic staff members from the Department of Mining Engineering at the University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” in Bulgaria carried out a teaching mobility at Konya Technical University. The mobility, held between June 16–19, 2025, included technical tours and laboratory activities, during which the guests were accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Taner from KTUN’s Department of Mining Engineering. Following their visit, the guests received their certificates of attendance and commemorative gifts from Erasmus+ Vice Coordinator, Dr. Teslime Gökgöl, at the Erasmus+ Coordination Office.

 

 

 

 

 

KTUN Student Awarded DiscoverEU Travel Opportunity

Konya Technical University – May 29,  2025

 

Uğur Sevimli, a first-year student in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Konya Technical University, has been selected by the European Commission within the scope of “DiscoverEU,” a youth initiative under the Erasmus+ Programme, and is preparing to embark on a European tour in 2025. Congratulations to our student, who has earned the opportunity to gain a unique experience by exploring Europe’s diversity, cultural heritage, and history.

 

* ”DiscoverEU”, with applications submitted through the European Youth Portal, is an Erasmus+ activity that offers 18-year-olds the chance to travel across Europe by train. The initiative provides selected participants with a free travel pass covering seven days of travel, a discount card, and exemption from visa fees, allowing them to discover Europe in an unforgettable way.

 

 

 

 

 

KTUN Attends START UP National Mobility Consortium Evaluation Meeting

Samsun University – May 20, 2025

 

The semi-annual evaluation meeting of the START UP National Mobility Consortium, coordinated by Uşak University, was hosted by Samsun University, one of the consortium partners, on May 20–21, 2025. Representing Konya Technical University, Hilal Yayla, working at the Coordination Offices of both International Relations and Erasmus+ participated in the meeting. During the sessions, mobility activities from the 2023 and 2024 contract periods were reviewed, and planning for upcoming mobility periods was discussed.

 

   

 

 

 

 

Konya Technical University Holds Academic Contacts in Kosovo

Kosovo – May 11-16, 2025


Konya Technical University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Deveci and International Relations Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy attended the Erasmus+ International Staff Week hosted by AAB College in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. As part of their program, the delegation carried out a series of significant academic visits and cooperation meetings.

 

The international event, bringing together more than 50 participants from 13 different countries, provided a platform to present KTUN’s academic structure, internationalization vision, and ongoing projects, thereby paving the way for new academic collaborations.

 

As part of the visit, meetings were held with AAB College Rector Prof. Dr. Blerim Olluri and Vice Rector for International Relations Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venera Llunji, and in addition to ongoing project-based cooperation, opportunities for bilateral cooperation between the faculties of architecture were also discussed.

 

During the visit to "Isa Boletini" University of Mitrovica, a partner institution in a project proposal currently under evaluation, meetings were held with Vice Rector for International Cooperation and Projects Assoc. Prof. Dr. Edita Bekteshi and Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sabri Abdulahi. Potential academic collaborations and joint conference organizations between engineering faculties were discussed.

 

At the University of Pristina, one of the country’s long-establisghed higher education institutions, a meeting was held with the Vice Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, and preparations were initiated for a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) including summer education programs and bilateral cooperation between engineering departments. Furthermore, discussions with Prof. Dr. Ergin Jable and Dr. Fatih Kemik from the Department of Turkology focused on Turkish language education and academic activities at the university.

 

At the last part of the program, the University ‘Ukshin Hoti’ Prizren campus, located in Prizren, Kosovo, the city with a notable Turkish community, was visited. During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formally signed with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdan Kervan, Vice Rector for International Cooperation. The agreement lays the foundation for strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions,  focuses on joint initiatives with regards to project applications.

 

   

   

 

 

 

 

Orientation Meetings Held for Erasmus+ Programme Study and Traineeship Mobilities

Konya Technical University – May 7, 2025

 

Within the scope of the Erasmus+ Programme, online orientation meetings were organized for the permanent and substitute candidate students who applied to KTUN Traineeship Mobility call dated January 8, 2025, and Study Mobility call dated March 7, 2025, and who were granted the right to benefit from the programme and carry out their mobility.

 

On May 7, 2025, two separate online sessions were held: one for Study Mobility at 10:30 a.m. and another for Traineeship Mobility at 2:30 p.m. During these sessions, Hilal Yayla, Outgoing Student Advisor of the Erasmus+ Coordination Office, provided essential information to the selected students, emphasizing the key points they should consider in order to make the most of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme.

 

 

 

 

 

Director of the Turkish National Agency Addresses Students at KTUN

KTUN, Halil Cin Conference Hall – April 14, 2025

 

Mr. İlker Astarcı, Director of the Turkish National Agency, met with students of Konya Technical University (KTUN) as part of the “Career Talks” program organized by the KTUN Career Center. The event, held at the Halil Cin Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, was attended by a large number of students, as well as academic and administrative staff. KTUN Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik also took part in the program.

 

During the speech, Mr. Astarcı shared insights from his career journey, addressing the steps students should take to play more active roles on national and international platforms. He provided comprehensive information about Erasmus+ Programme, the European Solidarity Corps, and the opportunities offered by the Turkish National Agency, encouraging young people to develop projects and gain international experience through these initiatives.

 

Highlighting that the Erasmus Programme is not only a study abroad opportunity but also a means of personal, academic, and cultural development, Mr. Astarcı recommended that students to apply for exchange programmes after receiving information from their universities’ Erasmus offices. He further emphasized that they can also submit projects to the National Agency through student groups or associations. Mentioning topics such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, and internationalization, he pointed out Türkiye’s human resources power in the field of artificial intelligence.

 

In his inspirational address to students, Mr. Astarcı stated: “Decide well on what you are going to do, but more importantly, know why you are doing it. Set a purpose, an ideal for yourself. Be genuine, sincere, and maintain humility. As the youth of this country, you hold great potential. You are the generation that will shape the future of Türkiye and the world.”

 

KTUN Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik emphasized the significance of the Turkish National Agency by serving as an important bridge for connecting young people to the world, noting: “In line with our vision of internationalization, we will continue to contribute to the academic and personal development of our students at a global level. A university degree alone is no longer enough. Knowledge of foreign languages, gaining international experience, and interacting with different cultures are of great importance.”

 

KTUN Erasmus+ Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, in his speech on “The Role of Erasmus Programme in Career Planning” stated that: “More than 100 mobilities have been carried out in the last three years. In 2023, our students participated in a short-term mobility programme for the first time within the scope of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP). Furthermore, we have established 104 bilateral agreements with 50 universities from 17 European countries on a departmental basis and signed cooperation protocols with 23 institutions from 15 different countries. This year, 148 study mobility and 36 traineeship mobility applications were submitted.”

 

Director of KTUN Career Center, Dr. Resul Çelik, also addressed the audience, stating: “We are delighted to host a guest who will inspire the career planning of our students through this event, which we are organizing for the first time this year. I hope this gathering will be the begining of new collaborations and visionary perspectives at our university. I extend my gratitude to Mr. Astarcı and all participants for honoring us with their presence.”

 

The event continued with a Q&A session, where students’ questions and Mr. Astarcı’s sincere and inspiring remarks attracted great interest. At the conclusion of the program, KTUN Rector Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik presented a plaque of appreciation to Mr. Astarcı. The event ended with a souvenir group photo.

 

 

 

 

 

KTUN Erasmus+ Coordination Office Meets with Students

Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Halil Cin Conference Hall – March 6, 2025 

 

On March 6, 2025, the Erasmus+ Coordination Office of Konya Technical University organized a meeting at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Halil Cin Conference Hall to inform the students about the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme.

 

The event began with the opening remarks of Erasmus+ Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy and continued with a presentation on the ESN Konya Technical community, and its activities for 2024. Following this, Hilal Yayla, Outgoing Student Advisor, provided detailed information about the Erasmus+ Programme. The meeting concluded with a Q&A session, during which the Vice Coordinator, Dr. Teslime Gökgöl, addressed the questions of the participants.

 

 

 

 

 

KTUN Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinators Gather at a Meeting
Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences – January 7, 2025

 

Representing the Erasmus+ Coordination Office, Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, Vice Coordinators Dr. Teslime Gökgöl and Asst. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Çakan, together with office staff member Hilal Yayla, met with the departmental coordinators at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences.

 

The meeting began with a presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muharrem Hilmi Aksoy, who provided an overview of the year 2024. It then continued with a session in which Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl, who briefed participants regarding the types of student and staff mobilities, the agreement process within the EWP Dashboard System, and the procedures related to Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP). The meeting concluded with the addressing of planned activities for 2025.

 

 

 

 

 

Software Engineering Department Hosts Erasmus+ Programme Information Session

On December 17, 2024, an Erasmus+ Programme Information Session was organized for the Department of Software Engineering by Erasmus+ Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl and Outgoing Student Advisor Hilal Yayla. The meeting, which was also attended by the Head of Department and Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator Asst. UNIKOP European Traineeship and Education Consortium Partners Evaluation Meeting
Necmettin Erbakan University – October 5, 2024

 

Konya Technical University was represented by International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl at the UNIKOP European Traineeship and Education Consortium Partners Evaluation Meeting, held on October 5, 2024, under the coordination of Necmettin Erbakan University.

 

During the meeting, consortium activities, both previous and ongoing projects were reviewed, and future mobilities were planned. Participants also exchanged ideas on ensuring the sustainability of the consortium’s success and enhancing the efficiency of processes. The event concluded with a social gathering aimed at strengthening collaboration and fostering interaction among participants.

Necmettin Erbakan University – October 4, 2024

 

International Relations Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl attended the Stars League: Central Projects Meeting, hosted by Necmettin Erbakan University on October 4, 2024 on behalf of Konya Technical University.

 

Jointly organized by the Erasmus Coordination Office of Necmettin Erbakan University and the Turkish National Agency, the meeting brought together numerous representatives from industry, business, the education sector, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). During the event, specialists from the Turkish National Agency delivered comprehensive presentations and evaluations on both national and international projects.

Middle East Technical University – September 4, 2024

 

On September 4, 2024, the Digital Erasmus (EWP Dashboard System, TURNA Portal) Meeting was held in Ankara, hosted by Middle East Technical University (METU). The meeting, as an important step in the digitalization process of Erasmus+ Programmes, brought together Erasmus coordinators and international relations office representatives from many universities across Türkiye and was attended by Vice Coordinator Dr. Teslime Gökgöl representing Konya Technical University.

KTUN Students Participate in Blended Intensive Programme in Poland
Poland – April 30, 2024

 

Within the framework of Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP), eight students from Konya Technical University participated in the education programme on Applied Artificial Intelligence, organized by Bielsko-Biala University in Poland.

 

Following the programme, the participating students shared their positive impressions and expressed the benefits they gained through the experience.

START UP National Mobility Consortium Meeting
Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University – April 29-30, 2024

 

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ Higher Education Programme, a meeting of the START UP Erasmus National Mobility Consortium, coordinated by Uşak University under the Erasmus+ KA131 project, was held on April 29-30, 2024, hosted by Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University.

 

Hilal Yayla from the Erasmus+ Coordination Office participated in the meeting as the representative of Konya Technical University. During the session, ongoing consortium mobilities were evaluated, and planning was conducted for student and staff mobilities to be carried out in the upcoming period.

 

The meeting also provided an important platform for strengthening collaboration and exchanging ideas among consortium members, reinforcing the commitment of participating universities to promote high-quality international mobility opportunities.

 

 

 

 

 

START UP Consortium Partners Complete Training Mobility in Hungary

Hungary – April 21, 2024

 

As part of the START UP National Mobility Consortium Staff Training Mobility, Erasmus+ Programme 2022 and 2023 contract periods, representatives from Konya Technical University—including Head of Student Affairs Yusuf Durmuş, Deputy Head of Student Affairs Ali Gezen, Head of Strategy Development Abdullah Şahin, and Hilal Yayla from the International Relations Coordination Office— participated in the programme organized by Neumann János University in Kecskemét, Hungary, along with other groups of staff from Uşak University, Afyonkarahisar Health Sciences University, and Kütahya Health Sciences University.

 

The delegation visited Budapest at the invitation of the Embassy of Türkiye, where they met with Education Attaché Dr. Halide Nur Cafoğlu Yaşar. Following these discussions, participants traveled to Kecskemét to take part in the training mobility at Neumann János University.

 

The programme was successfully completed by providing participants with a valuable ground for professional development and international interaction experience. It also paved the way for collaboration opportunuties by strengthening ties between participating universities.

 

   

 

 

 

 

Orientation Meeting Held for Erasmus+ BIP Mobility

An orientation meeting was held for KTUN Master’s and PhD students who were selected to participate in the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) mobility, which is a short-term mobility type within Erasmus+ that combines both physical and virtual mobility components, organized by the University of Bielsko-Biala in Poland.
