Purpose: We aim to educate technical staff who learned and absorbed the relevant concepts and terminology in the field of information technology, who have the ability to recognize and apply new systems needed in this sector , who have the skills to solve the problems that will arise in software and hardware as well as  producing new software, who are equipped with the skills to quickly meet the needs of the industry, who have the knowledge to carry out maintenance, repair and operation of the information processing system and who can take part in job preparation, design and operating systems including quality assurance.

Vision: The Department of Computer Technologies has the vision to train farsighted and qualified technical staff who can produce fast and effective solutions to the needs of society in accordance with international norms and criteria in their field.

Mission: The Department of Computer Technologies takes it as its duty to educate participatory and dynamic staff who research and question on computer technologies and who protect their own cultural values as well as respecting others and who think globally to serve humanity and contribute to the development of the country and the region by using information and technology.

Description of the Program: The Department of Computer Technologies is a program that covers areas related to computer use, software development (PC, network environment and internet, etc.), database, web, graphic applications, hardware, maintenance, repair and setup and management of computer networks. The department aims to train technicians who have sufficient knowledge in every field of computer science, equipped with the ability to apply their knowledge to a high degree, and who can continuously improve themselves in line with technological developments. There are two different types of education in our department: Daytime Education and Evening Education. The Department of Computer Technologies, which is a two-year program, consists of 4 terms. In the program, which provides approximately 30 ECTS credits each semester, students earn 120 ECTS credits when they complete the courses.

Admission and Registration Requirements: The candidates can enrol in our programs depending on the quota on condition that they have a high school and equivalent school diploma and have obtained enough marks in the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) Basic Proficiency Test (TYT). The associate degree programs that the graduates of Vocational and Technical High Schools can enrol by obtaining additional marks are explained in the HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION EXAM (YKS) GUIDELINE.

Recognition of Previous Learning: Students who have previously studied in another higher education institution can apply for exemption from some courses. For this, they have to submıt the transcript and course content as explained in the terms of application. They can be exempted from the appropriate courses after necessary evaluations.

Requirements for Graduation: In order to graduate from this associate degree program, students must be successful in all courses in the program curriculum and must have at least 120 ECTS credits, and must complete 2 compulsory workplace internships (Industry Based Education-IBE) consisting of 30 working days. Students are trained for 2 years (4 terms) in this program.

Employment Opportunities: The students have the Associate Degree in Computer Programming When they complete the program and gain the program qualifications successfully, the graduates can work in the data processing centres, computer sales companies, and technical services of public or private institutions regarding web design, programming, system installation, maintenance and repair.

Transition to Higher Level Programs: Students can take the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) held by ÖSYM and continue their undergraduate education (according to the quota, their scores and preferences) related to their four-year field.
