MESSAGE ON 15 JULY DEMOCRACY AND NATIONAL UNITY DAY

 

It is the sense of national unity that unites individuals around national interests and provides self-confidence in the individual and the nation to which they belong. It is not possible to forgive all kinds of attacks against this sublime feeling and the indivisible integrity of the state. For this reason, this treacherous attack on our nation, national unity and state on 15 July 2016 went down in history as one of the most villainous betrayals. The Turkish nation, a glorious nation that has left its mark on world history, has achieved an epic victory by showing the will to protect democracy and national freedom as in the past.

 

It should also be noted that universities play an important role in preparing the future of the country, producing science and technology, disseminating scientific knowledge and raising individuals with high creative potential. As Konya Technical University, with this sense of duty, we are working to fulfil our responsibility to our country and nation in the best way possible, with a world-class understanding of a democratic university that protects its homeland, nation and flag, where reason and ethics are carried out together, so that our young people are not the target of such various terrorist organizations and structures. We believe that no one will be able to break the unity and solidarity of this nation, which regards the love of the homeland, nation and flag as sacred, as it was yesterday.

 

I, once again, curse the traitors and collaborators who aim at the existence of the Turkish state and nation. I wish to live forever in the spirit of the victory of July 15, in which our beloved nation showed an example of heroism. I commemorate our martyrs with mercy, and wish our veterans good health and well-being.
