Purpose: Our department aims to educate its graduates as industrial engineers who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and application skills to work internationally in the manufacturing and service sectors, can make high level decisions, and have ethical and social responsibility awareness.


Vision: To be a department that follows and assimilates modern education values that are looked up to and accepted domestically and internationally, a department that leads the undergraduate and postgraduate education given to the students within Turkey, constantly improving itself. To provide an education for practice and research that improves the student’s investigative personality. To be a department that constantly renews the curriculum and develops its content in the light of new developments in the world regarding the study programs.


Mission: Our mission is to create scientific values that can meet national and international needs in the field of Industrial Engineering, and to educate industrial engineers who are constantly renewing themselves, can generate new ideas, have ethical values, have analytical thinking, are entrepreneur and inclined to teamwork. Aiming to educate industrial engineers who will contribute to the economy of the country by leading their institutions/projects to work with higher quality, more efficiency and lower cost with the knowledge that they will acquire throughout the Industrial Engineering program. To enable the Industrial Engineering department to cooperate with the industry and to develop the Industrial Engineering department. To educate industrial engineers who love and defend their profession, who are also in cooperation with other related professions and have interdisciplinary working skills. To educate industrial engineers who can compete in the national and international areas as a reliable person preferred in business life in the community.

Program Description: Konya Technical University Industrial Engineering Department was established in 1992 and gave its first graduates in 1996. In the fall semester of 1997 the MSc Program, in the fall semester of 2003 After Hours Education non-thesis MSc Program, and in the fall semester of 2015 the PhD program were opened.  Education continues in three departments: Industrial Engineering, Operations Research and Ergonomics. The language of the program is Turkish. The courses are conducted theoretically and practically in Konya Technical University Industrial Engineering Department. Although there are only courses with theoretical part, there are also courses with theoretical and practical part. Since the fall semester of the 2007-2008 academic year, many of our students are sent abroad through the ERASMUS program.  The department has been accredited by MÜDEK since 30 September 2011. In the Department of Industrial Engineering, MSc and PhD programs are carried out efficiently besides the undergraduate program. Due to the vital importance of well-trained manpower in the development of the country and in international competition areas, maximum efforts are made to increase the quality of both undergraduate and graduate education to the extent of the current opportunities of our department and faculty. It should never be forgotten that youth, especially well-educated university youth have an important place and share in the development and progress of a country in economic, social and cultural aspects.


Admissions Requirements: Candidates who will be admitted to Konya Technical University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Industrial Engineering Department must graduate from high school or equivalent schools and get sufficient points for the student selection exams conducted throughout the country for that academic year. Documents required for new students who are entitled to enroll with the central university exam are also announced to the students on the university website. Apart from this, the acceptance of students from abroad or foreign nationality is made according to the directive of acceptance from abroad or foreign students at the associate and undergraduate level of Konya Technical University.  In addition, a limited number of students are admitted to the department with a quota through lateral and vertical external applications. Regulations on lateral and vertical external transfer requirements and application can be accessed from the university web page. As stated in "Konya Technical University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education-Training and Examination Regulation", those who will enroll in the Industrial Engineering undergraduate department should not be enrolled in another formal education, open education with a quota limitation or distance education undergraduate program.


Recognition of Prior Learning: The Adaptation Committee of our department evaluates the students' previous learning according to the curriculum of the department and makes the necessary decisions.  The Committee accepts students for undergraduate transfers at the undergraduate degree and double major and minor program among other departments of our university according to "Regulations on the Principles of Transition, Double Major and Minor Between the Programs at the Associate Degree and Undergraduate at Higher Education Institutions and Inter-institutional Credit Transfer" (YÜKSEK ÖĞRETİM KURUMLARINDA ÖN LİSANS VE LİSANS DÜZEYİNDEKİ PROGRAMLAR ARASINDA GEÇİŞ, ÇİFT ANADAL, YAN DAL İLE KURUMLAR ARASI KREDİ TRANSFERİ YAPILMASI ESASLARINA İLİŞKİN YÖNETMELİK).


Graduation Requirements: In order for a student to graduate from the Industrial Engineering Program, he / she has to have taken and succeeded in the necessary courses within the program and must successfully complete the applications, internships and similar studies, and the minimum GPA must be at least 2.00.


Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: The principles of assessment and evaluation of Industrial Engineering Program are determined according to Konya Technical University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.


Employment Opportunities: As a result of Industrial Engineering education, our graduates succeed in blending technical sciences with the perspective they acquire in social sciences. Working areas of our graduates cover a wide range of fields, from the high-tech manufacturing industry to banking and insurance services, and from tourism to the healthcare industry. Transition to High Education (graduate) Programs: Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate education in our department can study in their own field or related fields in the postgraduate programs according to their scores from ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) and YDS (Foreign Language Exam) exams. In addition, they can receive postgraduate education at different universities abroad by providing the requirements of the relevant institution.
