Purpose: Our department aims to train technical staff who have learned and assimilated relevant concepts, terminology, materials and production technologies, who have the ability to recognize and apply the new systems needed in this sector, have the skills to design new methods and models, to solve the problems that will arise in planning and production, who are capable of meeting the needs of the sector quickly, and who can take part in occupational health and safety, quality assurance, product and system design, production planning and production systems in the field of Furniture and Decoration.

Vision: Furniture and Decoration Program aims to train technical staff who have sufficient theoretical and practical knowledge in their field and high business skills, who are qualified and experts in their fields, and who can plan for the future by providing education at the international level with its highly qualified academic staff, and it aims to be a department whose graduates are preferred and which graduates skilled and respected technicians who have adopted lifelong learning in research and professional field in the field of Furniture and Decoration.

Mission: Our mission is to train competent technicians who meet the needs of national and international industry through quality education at international standards, who comply with the ethical values ​​required by the profession, who are knowledgeable about their profession, who can use technology effectively and renew themselves, who have the ability to access and produce information, who protect the basic qualities of the republic and research materials and production technologies in the field of Furniture and Decoration, who have a critical approach, who are participatory, dynamic, who can compare technology and production methods in the past with today’s methods and predict possible future developments, who approach different ideas and thoughts with respect, and who take the duty and responsibility to contribute to the development of the region and the country.

Description of the Program: It is an associate degree program that aims to provide students with professional and academic qualifications. In addition, the Furniture and Decoration Program is a program that includes the activities such as wood and its derivative materials, furniture hardware and equipment, furniture design according to the place and purpose of use, production methods and technologies, periodic maintenance of machines, production and commissioning according to the program given with worker health and work safety. The students in the Furniture and Decoration Program are educated as individuals who have sufficient knowledge in the furniture design, planning, purchasing, production and shipping fields of the Furniture and Decoration sector, who are equipped with the ability to apply their knowledge to a high degree, and who can continuously improve themselves in line with technological developments.

Admission and Registration Requirements: If the candidates have a high school or equivalent diploma and get enough grades from the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) in Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), they are eligible to enroll in our programs depending on the quota.The associate degree programs that the graduates of Vocational and Technical High Schools can enrol by obtaining additional marks are explained in the HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION EXAM (YKS) GUIDELINE.

Recognition of Previous Learning: Students who have previously studied in another higher education institution can apply for exemption from some courses. For this, they have to submit the transcript and course content as explained in the terms of application. They can be exempted from the appropriate courses after necessary evaluations.

Requirements for Graduation: Students can graduate from this program by completing 120 ECTS credits. In addition, at the end of the 2nd and 4th semesters, they have to complete 2 internships, each consisting of 30 working days.

The Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: Assessment and Evaluation process is based on Konya Technical University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Exam Regulations. In-class activities are carried out by the academic staff by transferring them to the students at the beginning of the semester.

Employment Opportunities: Students who graduate from the Furniture and Decoration Program are employed in the furniture sector, in furniture workshops and factories producing goods and services, interior design offices, sales offices, private enterprises and public institutions that are needed.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs: When students complete their associate degree programs, they can continue their undergraduate education by taking the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) held by ÖSYM every year, by transferring to the faculties related to their field indicated in the DGS catalogue such as Woodworking Industrial Engineering, Industrial Product Design, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Forest Industry Engineering.
