Purpose: The objectives of the Occupational Health and Safety Program are to minimize the risks in the workplace, identify the hazards properly, eliminate the hazards at their source, create a healthy and safe working environment, to increase work efficiency by encouraging the employees to work carefully, to minimize conscientious and financial responsibilities and thus to increase the profitability of the business, to contribute to the country's economy, and to spread the Occupational Health and Safety culture within the society. The program also aims to train "Occupational health and safety technicians" who have internalized the culture of occupational safety, have the background knowledge they will need in working life, research and question, obey professional ethical rules, know how to access information, are open to learning, have distinctive skills, take responsibility, are sensitive to the current events in the field of health and safety, follow the developments, contribute to the execution of the occupational health and safety practices of the enterprises and produce solutions to the problems of occupational health and safety.
Vision: By training qualified personnel in compliance with international values and international professional standards with the knowledge, training and service it provides, our vision is to be an internationally recognized program that keeps up with the time, which is competitive and open to improvements, and which meets the needs and demands of the business world and contributes to science at national and international level with its academic studies preferred by the education, industry and service sectors among schools that provide education in similar fields.
Mission: Our mission is to train qualified intermediate staff in the fields required by the public and private sectors, to teach students how to access and use information and to equip them with the skills in the transmission, development, and application of information on issues needed by the manufacturing and service sectors and society, as well as to train people who uphold professional ethical values, are aware of all their sector's responsibilities, can solve problems in their field, create new projects, contribute to economic and social development at the local and regional level, can keep up with scientific advancements and legal requirements, and can incorporate human health, social, and economic considerations into occupational health and safety practices.

Description of the Program: It is an associate degree program aiming to equip students with professional and academic qualifications in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.
Admission and Registration Requirements: If the candidates have a high school or equivalent diploma and get enough grades from the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT) in Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), they are eligible to enroll in our programs depending on the quota. The associate degree programs that the graduates of Vocational and Technical High Schools can enroll in by obtaining additional marks are explained in the HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION EXAM (YKS) GUIDELINE.
Recognition of Previous Learning: Students studying in the programs may be exempted from some courses within the framework of certain regulations. Students may be exempted from a course if the content and credit of the course taken in another institution are in accordance with the content of the course given in this program and approved by the School Directorate.
Requirements for Graduation: In order to graduate from the occupational health and safety associate degree program, students must be successful in all compulsory and elective courses (120 ECTS in total) and must complete their internships consisting of 40 working days. Students must study in this program for 2 years (4 terms).
The Principles of Assessment and Evaluation: The assessment and evaluation process is based on Konya Technical University Associate Degree and Undergraduate Education and Exam Regulations. At the start of the semester, faculty members inform the students about the in-class activities, and these activities are then carried out.
Employment Opportunities: The Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331, which went into effect on June 20, 2012, offers graduates significant employment options. Graduates of the program are qualified to work in both public and private workplaces as "Occupational Health and Safety Technicians." Additionally, by enrolling in the "Occupational Health and Safety Specialist" education at private educational institutions licensed by the General Directorate of Occupational Health and Safety, our graduates are qualified to sit for the "Class C occupational safety specialist exam. “If they succeed in this exam, they will be qualified to work as occupational safety specialists in a variety of less hazardous workplaces.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs: Students can take the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) held by ÖSYM every year and if they are successful in this exam, they can continue their undergraduate education by transferring to the faculties related to their field indicated in the DGS catalog. With DGS, they can continue their education in the departments of relevant faculties such as Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency and Disaster Management, Business, Health Management and Social Services.
