As part of the “Personal Development Talk” program organized under the coordination of our university’s Career Center, Vehbi Konarılı, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology in Konya, and personal development trainer Rahim Aladağ met with students. Students from many departments—including civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic, computer, software, and industrial engineering—showed keen interest in the talk.
During the event, participants received important insights on goal setting, self-awareness, entrepreneurship, and strategic leadership.
“PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TALK” HELD AT OUR UNIVERSITY
Organized under the coordination of our university’s Career Center, the “Personal Development Talk” program brought together Vehbi Konarılı, Provincial Director of Industry and Technology in Konya, and personal development trainer Rahim Aladağ with students.
The event, held at the Halil Cin Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, was attended by Kamil Gök, Secretary General of Konya Technical University; Vehbi Konarılı, Director of the Konya Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology; Rahim Aladağ, Personal Development Trainer; Dr. Resul Çelik, Lecturer and Director of the Career Center; faculty members; and a large number of students.
“OUR COLLABORATION WITH THE INDUSTRY WILL CONTINUE TO GROW”
In his opening remarks, Career Center Director Lecturer Dr. Resul Çelik stated that the Career Center is conducting initiatives aimed at supporting students’ personal and professional development, adding, “We are collaborating with many sectors in Konya. We are signing various agreements to provide our students with job and internship opportunities. Through such events, we also aim to help them shape their career goals more consciously.”

Speaking at the event, Vehbi Konarılı, Director of the Konya Provincial Directorate of Industry and Technology, discussed the importance of goal-setting, self-awareness, and investing in oneself with the students. “The most valuable investment a person can make is in themselves,” said Konarılı, emphasizing that university years represent a crucial opportunity to strengthen individual development and learning skills. Konarılı added, “In college, we are actually learning how to learn. Discovering ways to access knowledge lays the foundation for our future success.”
“BUILD YOUR NETWORK NOW”
Personal Development Trainer Rahim Aladağ, in his speech, highlighted entrepreneurship, strategic leadership, and 21st-century competencies. Aladağ stated, “In today’s world, analytical thinking, the ability to interpret data, and the skill of building a strong communication network are among the fundamental elements of career success. It is of great importance for our young people to develop themselves in these areas.”
Following the speeches, the speakers answered questions from the students. At the conclusion of the event, Kamil Gök, Secretary General of Konya Technical University, and Dr. Resul Çelik, Director of the Career Center, presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers. The program concluded with a group photo taken to commemorate the day.
