As part of Human Rights Week, a panel discussion titled “A Critical Look at ‘Human Rights’ from a Civilizational Perspective” was held with the participation of Osman Mesten, AK Party Member of Parliament for Bursa and Spokesperson for the Constitutional Commission.
Organized by our Career Center on Friday, December 12, 2025, the event featured Attorney Osman Mesten, who engaged in comprehensive discussions with students by examining the concept of human rights from a civilizational perspective. During the program, important insights were shared regarding the historical development of human rights, current debates, and their legal dimensions.
Held in the Prof. Dr. Halil Cin Conference Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, the talk was attended by academic and administrative staff as well as a large number of students. The event contributed to raising students’ awareness of the subject.
At the conclusion of the program, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Osman Nuri Çelik, presented a gift to Attorney Osman Mesten in recognition of his contributions.
